In 2007, UNC's Administration stifled the rights of staff members to publish their opinions about worker's rights.  This is not the first time that students or staff members have been censored, but something can be learned from the history of protest at North Carolina's premier university.

Based on research conducted by myself during the summer of 2005 in Jinja, So. Uganda, this was a proposal to create an internship program at UNC-CH.  After conducting more research the following summer by myself and UNC student Jennifer Monroe, AGRADU (Advocates for Grassroots Development in Uganda), an internship and advocacy program, came to fruition.
