Party with a Purpose! Nov. 5th (2-10pm)
You are cordially invited to attend a Cultural Salon with food, vendors, artists and entertainment. This pre-holiday market place also features an opportunity to hear Tony Browder, noted author and independent Egyptologist discuss The ASA Restoration Project - the first excavation of an Egyptian tomb funded solely by African American dollars. Tony will share the latest findings about the excavation and restoration of the 25th Dynasty tomb of Karakhamun in Luxor, Egypt.
Your attendance at the Salon will help ensure that the important work being done at this site will continue for another year.
Visit the Griot Market
Griot = noun : a member of a hereditary caste among the peoples of western Africa whose function is to keep an oral history of the tribe or village and to entertain with stories, poems, songs, dances, etc.
The Griot Market is a wonderful place to get history which will enlighten your soul.
What's the dig?
The ASA Restoration Project was established in 2008 to honor the work of Dr. Asa G. Hilliard, III and support the archeological research of Dr. Elena Pischikova and the South Asasif Conservation Project which she directs.
Cultural Circle
What is a Cultural Circle? One of the first things you'll learn in a self study program is much of what you've been led to believe about the world is based on information that is incorrect, and or incomplete. This is especially true when the study involves information about people of African descent.
The Cultural Circles self study program is for any person who is genuinely interested in learning how to construct an accurate picture of the world and how to claim their rightful place in it.
How Can I Support
The most important reason for supporting the ASA Restoration Project is that your contribution of money, time or resources will contribute to the restoration, preservation and presentation of one of the most important finds in recent history. It is an opportunity that few people encounter in their lifetime.
